Wecare- Electrical Safety (Telecom Equipment) (English)

Course Overview

This module focuses on handling hand and power tools relevant to construction electrical works. Participants will learn the basic principles of electrical current flow, as well as the application of various electrical devices and components. Both theoretical knowledge and practical skills related to the use of hand and power tools, wiring techniques, and electrical measurements will be covered. By the end of the module, learners will be proficient in safely using tools and equipment for electrical installations and maintenance in construction projects.

Course Objective

  • Understand the basic principles of electrical current flow and concepts such as alternate and direct current, voltage, resistance, and temperature.
  • Apply Ampere's law, Ohm's law, and electromagnetic field principles.
  • Interpret wiring symbols, Single Line Diagrams (SLDs), manufacturer's guidelines, and electrical specifications.
  • Demonstrate the safe and proper use of various electrical hand and power tools, including pliers, crimping tools, drills, and cutting machines.
  • Identify and describe electrical devices such as starters, relays, circuit breakers, switches, fuses, resistors, and circuit protecting devices, along with their power ratings, working principles, and applications.
  • Utilize electrical measuring and testing tools such as voltage testers, earth testers, multimeters, tong testers, and meggers for inspection and testing purposes.
  • Perform fitting of conduits, cable wiring, fixing of electrical fixtures, termination at power outlets, and installation of electrical components.
  • Conduct basic inspections of electrical circuits and wiring using appropriate testing devices.
