Course Overview
The course is designed to equip learners with the necessary knowledge and skills to become proficient in various aspects of telecom infrastructure installation, maintenance, and troubleshooting, with a focus on broadband connectivity and optical fiber networks. Through a combination of theoretical learning, practical exercises, and on-the-job training, participants will learn to install cable/system wiring and equipment, troubleshoot infrastructure components, perform maintenance procedures, configure WiFi access points, handle hand and power tools, splice optical fiber, construct FTTH/X cabling, repair handsets, and engage in entrepreneurial activities within the telecom sector. The course also includes modules on employability skills to enhance learners' overall readiness for the job market.
Course Objective
- To enable learners to install cable/system wiring and equipment at customer premises.
- To equip learners with the knowledge and skills to install and troubleshoot various components of broadband infrastructure.
- To train learners in coordinating activities for cable laying and pulling.
- To enable learners to perform efficient protective and corrective maintenance procedures.
- To demonstrate proficiency in installing and configuring WiFi Access Point equipment.
- To familiarize learners with procedures for outside plant cable installation and cable preparation for splicing.
- To train learners in installing passive FTTH/X components and constructing FTTH/X cabling inside buildings.
- To impart knowledge on implementing maintenance procedures for optical fiber networks.
- To develop learners' ability to repair and restore functionality to handsets.
- To provide an understanding of entrepreneurial activities within the telecom sector.
- To enhance learners' employability skills for the job market.
